Looking for Joseph BUTLER who had joint ownership of land with Maurice (Morris)MURPHY on Otter Creek in 1832. Thomas Murphy had 100 acres granted on Otter Creek also. He was the father of Elizabeth who married Joseph in 1826 Nicholas Co. Hoping to
find info on these people through 1850s.
In the 1830 Nicholas census there is an Elizabeth Butler living near the Butlers. Several children are living in the house but no older man is listed. Can someone tell me who she is?
Hiram Young and John M. Butler were engaged in a lumber business at Tioga where Hiram died August 24, 1912. Is there a history of Tioga from that period in book form I may acquire? Is there a library in Tioga?
