My grandfather was born in Richwood, WV in 3/1900. His parents were Laura SHAWVER (Shawer,Shaver,Shauver) and Alexander (?) HINKLE.
I recently learned about Alexander Hinkle. I had been told for years that James Christopher BYRD was my paternal great-grandfather. Through Ancestry.com I learned that a Alexander Hinkle and Laura Shawer were married in 1897.
I have been told that my paternal great-grandfather was killed in a railroad accident. That is all I have to go with. If
anyone can tell me how to research this. My paternal g-grandmother remarried J.C. BYRD around the time my grandfather
was 6.
If anyone can help me. They were married in Nicholas County.
