I am looking for the location of the site of the Old Methodist Camp Ground which was used prior to the Civil War and was on Laurel Creek near the Bethel ME church. This site was purchased in 1842 by the church, and later owned in the 1950's by Walter Gray. After the Civil War, a new site for the ME Camp Ground was located on Laurel Creek near the 1954 residence of John Bennett. This latter site was used up to the 1870s.

Does anyone know whether the Bethel Methodist church was a ME church or a ME South church after the Methodists split in 1845?
