I am interested in locating information about the H.C. PERKINS FAMILY (children Clark and Clarance) and the family of Mary Ellen NUTTER who were my great grandparents. Their sons, Rev. Clark Chambers PERKINS DOB 10-18-18763 and brother Clarence PERKINS were raised on the family home farm in Nicholas Co. Their father was H.C. (actual name unknown) PERKINS and their mother was Mary Ellen NUTTER. Clark and Charence Perkins attended schools in Nicholas County and Summersville Normal. Clark went on to become a Methodist Minister, married Lily B. DYE and retired in Charleston, WVA after 50 years in the church. Clarence moved to Gassaway, WVA.
(see notes below)
CLarence Perkins taught in Nicholas County schools before moving to Gassaway and opening a business. He was later appointed postmaster of Gassaway in 1916 and served one term as mayor. (See FamilyTreeMaker.com Desendants of Michael Criss vii. Bessie CRISS) Clarence married Bessie Criss from Braxton Co. WVA on 9-12-1906 according to notes included in The History of WVA, Old and New published in 1923, The American Historical Society Chicago and New Your, Vol. III, page 2796 - Nicholas County. It appears they had no childrnen.
I would appreciate any/all information on the PERKINS & NUTTER families. I can provide information on desendents of Clark.
