EDWARD (NED) HUGHES
I am writing a book on Edward ( Ned) HUGHES b. ca 1767 d. 1839 m. 18 Oct. 1793 Nancy Foster b. 19 Feb. 1774.Lived in Kanawha and Nicholas Co., WV. I have fare records on his ancestors from son Madison to present. Willing to share all! I am attempting to clarify or find his father and grandfather.
1. An unknown source I have lists his father as Thomas Hughes b. 1740 d. 1793 m. Elizabeth (unknown) b. 1744 d. aft. May 1793. This takes me nowhere.
2. Don Norman (Hacker's Ck. Pioneer Desc.) (his site is temp. down) lists Ned as son of Thomas and Susannah Hughes. Thomas' first wife was Mary Baker. Thomas is reported as son of William who died in 1767 in Hampsire Co. VA. Will probated 9 June 1767.Wife believed to be Suda or Sudrah.
Thomas moved to Hampsire Co. about 1750. Lived near "Lick Branch". Moved to Harrison Co. about 1755. Settled on Hackers Creek about 1773. Listed children:

3. Ruth Cornell says Thomas had 3 wives. Elizabeth _______, Jane (Jean ) Hughes, Nellie Foster

This man's will (22 May, 1793) lists only Thomas, Edward and Robert as sons. Have you been able to follow any of these lines? Would you venture any theories on who Neds parents are?
