Nicholas County Historical Society is seeking to locate and document every cemetery and burial site in Nicholas County, with the goal being to publish a book of Nicholas County Cemeteries and Burial Sites by September 2013. We have nearly, if not more than, 500 documented sites to date.

We have been in, on, over, through, nearly every hill, hollow, cow pasture, woodland, knoll, home place, in the county.

We are seeking to wrap up our research and foot/field duty by June, and begin organizing the format of the book.

I would appreciate your help with some remaining sites. Would you have information, directions, names, and dates for any of the following?

1.Scott-McAvoy cemetery in Craigsville/Cottle area?…(I believe there is a McCoy cemetery in Upper Glade, Webster County.)
2. Butler graves off of road to Holcomb? (from Hinkle Mtn. presumably?)
3. Spencer-Taylor cemetery?
4. Andrew-Russell cemetery?
5. Jackson Family site in yard near Craigsville?
6. Lambert Cemetery near Craigsville?
7. Fork Mountain: Spencer cemetery?(I may check with Frank Spencer about this.)
8. A 16-year-old girl site? (may be Richwood area)…
